What does Amityville your Website have in common?
So let me begin with “What the hell are you thinking”
Gasps anyone? Perhaps our faithful readers might exclaim in horror at my language. But what should worry you more are the consequences of not updating your website since the late 90s and early 2000’s.
Over the years as a web developer and digital marketer, the later giving more credit to my colleagues, I have come to realize the reason many don’t upgrade their website is because they have NO IDEA WHY THEY SHOULD.
You may ask yourself why should I update my website, business is good and all seems well. All fair questions however please keep in mind these were also the questions of companies like Kodak, Myspace, Friendster, Blackberry, IBM, HP computers and the list goes on. So if you don’t want to end up like these skeletons of business review your web presence. These companies suffered from a multitude of problems that ultimately caused their fall but the isolated issue of complacency was apparent.
In layman’s terms would you buy a house that looks ugly or even step into the house in hopes that the inside looks decent. Probably not and that’s exactly how people view your site. And by the time the word gets around about your cherished home you will have the reputation of the Amityville horror home. They are numerous if not overwhelming numbers of just plain ‘ugly’ looking websites so as our great friend Mark Twain said: “If you find yourself in the majority it is time to pause and reflect”.
